NJIEC Launches First-of-Its-Kind Apprenticeship Fast Track Program in New Jersey

The New Jersey Independent Electrical Contractors (NJIEC) has officially launched a groundbreaking opportunity for electrical professionals across the state. The Apprenticeship Fast Track Program is now the fastest way to complete your apprenticeship in New Jersey.

The Fastest Path to Licensure in New Jersey

In reality, a traditional four-year apprenticeship model does not reflect most journeypersons’ existing experience or career timelines. Before sitting for the New Jersey Electrical Contractor’s Exam, new state legislation requires completing an approved apprenticeship program. NJIEC has a fast solution designed specifically for hardworking Merit Shop contractors and experienced journeypersons.

NJIEC’s Fast Track Program was created to:

• Meet the new apprenticeship requirement

• Respect the experience of qualified journeypersons

• Provide a significantly accelerated completion timeline

The NJIEC Apprenticeship Fast Track Program is delivered entirely online, giving participants the flexibility to complete coursework while continuing to work full time. Designed specifically for qualified journeypersons, the program can be finished in just 6–8 months, making it the fastest apprenticeship option currently available in New Jersey.

Nationally Recognized & DOL Approved

This program is backed by the IEC’s nationally recognized curriculum and is officially approved by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship. This means participants earn credentials that are federally recognized, transferable nationwide, and respected throughout the electrical industry.  

Enrollment for NJIEC’s Apprenticeship Fast Track Program begins this spring.
